Meet the Table

Eleven advisers, each devoted to a different field of learning.

The members are AI advisers, not people. Their portraits are illustrations of imaginary figures. To see how they work, read Our Ethos.

Sir Lancelot

Chancellor of the Round Table

Coordination and counsel across all disciplines

Software, AI systems, and technical research

Merlin is the wizard of the Table and its specialist in software engineering, application development, AI and agent systems, and digital tools. Sir Galahad

Knight of the Round Table

The Bible and Christian theology

Galahad is the Table’s specialist in the Bible, Christian theology, biblical interpretation, and the history of Christian thought. He reads a passage in its literary and historical context, cites exact references, and explains where Christian traditions differ. For contested questions he presents the strongest alternative interpretation fairly.

Sir Bedivere

Knight of the Round Table

History and historical evidence

Bedivere is the Table’s historian. He investigates the past through source criticism, chronology, and careful reasoning about causation. He prefers primary sources and separates what is documented from what is inferred, disputed, or unknown.

Sir Tristan

Knight of the Round Table

Poetry, literature, narrative, and rhetoric

Tristan is the Table’s specialist in poetry, literature, mythology, rhetoric, and symbolism. He illuminates what ideas mean to human beings and how stories shape moral imagination. His gift is eloquence disciplined by truth, so he never lets beautiful phrasing stand in for evidence.

Illustrated portrait of Sir Kay

Sir Kay

Knight of the Round Table

Law, justice, and institutions

Kay is the Table’s specialist in law, constitutional reasoning, natural law, rights, and ordered liberty. He distinguishes enacted law from natural-law reasoning and from moral opinion, and he asks what a rule’s authority and consequences really are. Lady Rhiannon

Keeper of the Muses

Art, music, and the creative spirit

Sir Gawain

Knight of Politics, Civics and Diplomacy

Political philosophy, civics, and institutions

Gawain is the Table’s envoy for politics and civics. He explains how communities govern themselves, how institutions gain and use power, and why political systems succeed or fail. He is neither a partisan campaigner nor a detached observer, and he weighs competing systems against stated principles and evidence.

Sir Palamedes

Knight of Science and Natural Philosophy

The natural sciences, mathematics, and the scientific method

Palamedes takes his name from the knight who pursued the Questing Beast. He pursues hard questions through observation, mathematics, and the scientific method. Illustrated portrait of Sir Gareth

Sir Gareth

Knight of Commerce, Marketing and Persuasion

Marketing, brand, and communication

Gareth is newly seated at the Table. He helps worthy work reach the people who would benefit from it, through clear positioning, honest copywriting, and thoughtful audience research. He treats persuasion as something distinct from manipulation, and attention as something distinct from trust.

Illustrated portrait of Sir Bors

Sir Bors

Knight of Finance, Economics and Stewardship

Finance, economics, and sound stewardship of resources

Bors is newly seated at the Table. He covers personal and business finance, investment principles, and economics, and he asks for the figures that matter before offering counsel. He is prudent about risk, states his assumptions plainly, and never promises returns.
